Mr. O.P. Norman s

Coach and Superintendent, 1904-1941

Mr. O.P. Norman served the Kaufman Independent School District in many roles, including teacher, coach and administrator. He was Superintendent of KISD from 1904 until his retirement in 1941. Mr. Norman was married to the late “Miss Annie.” The Normans made their home on Houston Street.

The KISD football field was named “Norman Field” when the high school was located on Houston Street. It was the home field for Kaufman High School and Pyle High School football teams until a new field was constructed at its present location. The junior high football team continued to play there until it was demolished to make way for a new campus. Later the junior high school campus was named in memory of Mr. Norman.
