Kaufman High School is dedicated to unlocking the potential of every student, equipping them to be academically and socially responsible, and empowering them to confidently pursue their chosen career, college, or military future.
We believe in fostering positive relationships to benefit students in academic and social environments, challenging our students to grow mentally, emotionally, and physically, valuing students so they can learn at a high standard, establishing academic rigor to create critical thinkers and problem solvers, and teaching the importance of creativity, responsibility, accountability, and integrity
Curriculum
Kaufman High School is established with advanced-placement courses as well as dual credit courses. Dual credit enrollment is available for core and CTE classes.
KHS believes in high academic rigor to challenge students to continue to grow.

School Day and Graduation Requirements
Students are required to earn a minimum of 26 credits.
Each semester course passed with a 70 or higher earns 5 credits. Students are expected to be in attendance at least 90% of the school days.

Grade Weight and Reporting
In Kaufman High School, graduating Seniors shall be ranked within the graduating class based on weighted grade averages for courses completed in Grades 9 - 12.
Early Graduates will be ranked in the class in which they graduate. Only Core classes (Math, English, Science, and Social Studies) and Foreign Language (Spanish) will be used in GPA calculations or graduating classes prior to 2026. Beginning with the Class of 2026, Foreign Language (Spanish) will no longer be used in GPA calculations. The calculation of class rank shall include grades earned in a dual credit course taken at the district high school and taught by a district employee if the class is offered by the district. Dual credit courses taken online or on a college campus shall only be categorized and weighted as advanced if the course is not offered by the district.
The following weight scale will be used:
Advanced Placement Courses/Dual Credit will carry the following weight:
100 = 6.0
99 = 5.9
98 = 5.8Pre-Advanced Placement Courses and Honors Courses will carry the following weight:
100 = 5.0
99 = 4.9
98 = 4.8Regular Courses will receive a top weight of 4.0:
100 = 4.0
99 = 3.9
98 = 3.8

247 Students attempted 2,641 hours with a 94% success rate for hours attempted on campus and a 80% success rate for hours attempted online.
