Welcome to the 2024-25 school year in Kaufman ISD!

As we enter a new school year, I am excited about the solid educational foundation we are building for our students in the Kaufman community. This foundation has been made possible through the dedicated efforts of our outstanding teachers, staff, a supportive school board, and an engaged community. Together, these critical partnerships ensure our students live out the Kaufman ISD mission when they graduate committed to EXCELLENCE in all they do, SERVICE towards others, and live with INTEGRITY in their decision-making. 

The Kaufman ISD motto is BIG CITY EDUCATION | SMALL TOWN VALUES. As an "A" rated school district financially and academically, we proudly offer 14 industry-based certification programs and multiple dual credit classes in partnership with Trinity Valley Community College. We also boast a graduation rate of over 98% for the past three consecutive years. As the Kaufman area grows, our community demonstrated their support by approving a $170 million bond referendum to enhance safety and security, build a new junior high and an Agricultural Barn, and expand/renovate Phillips Elementary and Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center.

As our teachers get ready to return to work, I want to express my gratitude for their unwavering commitment to Kaufman ISD's students and families. They have spent countless hours preparing, training, volunteering, researching best practices, and collaborating with other educators. Despite the many changes happening in Texas and nationwide, our teachers remain dedicated to nurturing your children, building positive relationships, and ensuring their safety. 

Students, we are excited to see you reconnect with friends, teachers, coaches, counselors, and other support staff. You are the reason we do what we do! We are committed to empowering you with the knowledge to exemplify Excellence, Service, and Integrity within our community and beyond. Lastly, I cannot thank our families and community members enough for your support and involvement in our children's lives. Your dedication to your children's education and pride in our Lions send a powerful message to our students. 

We are committed to providing an outstanding educational experience, enabling students to achieve their dreams. I am incredibly proud of our achievements across the district and look forward to our continued partnership in the coming school year. It’s a great day to be a LION!
