Kaufman ISD District Enrollment

Kaufman ISD welcomes families new to our District. For grades PreK-12, the enrollment process begins by completing online enrollment. You will need an email address that you can access before you begin the online enrollment process.  After being prompted to request a Skyward account, parents will receive an email with login information.  The following internet browsers translate online enrollment into other languages: Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.

Parents must finalize enrollment by visiting the campus to verify proof of residency and the identity of their student. You will be contacted by your student’s school with information needed to complete your student’s enrollment.

Who can enroll?

All students of qualifying age living within the boundaries of the District are eligible for public education in Kaufman ISD.

When to Enroll

New student online enrollment begins July 18, 2024.  New students may enroll anytime during the school year at the campus.  Enrollment packets are available at the Administration Building located at 1000 S. Houston Street Kaufman, TX.   

Information/Documents needed to enroll your Child

Parents and guardians are required to prove two things: (1) that they have a legal right to enroll the student (parent’s name is on birth certificate or documents showing lawful control of the student under order of the court) and (2) that they are permanent residents of Kaufman ISD. The following documents are required:

 

Group A

(1 document form this group)
 
  • Social Security letter/check
  • Voter registration card
  • Food stamps
  • Income tax return
  • Driver's license
  • State ID

Group B

(1 document from this group)
 
  • Utility bill (electric, gas or water -- no cell phone bills)
  • Mortgage/deed
  • Lease agreement with landlord contact
  • Closing statement on home
 

A few forms that could be needed during enrollment. Please fill out the needed form, save to your computer and upload.

 

The District may investigate residency as necessary (including home visits) to verify the student currently resides in the District with the intention to remain.

Student Enrollment

For students first registering in the Kaufman Independent School District, there are a few things you will need:

  1. Shot Record - Please bring a copy so that it can be placed in the students file. If you bring the original, a copy will be made.
  2. Copy of Transcript - This needs to be the most current transcript available. The last grade completed needs to be on it in order to register for the next grade.
  3. Social Security Card - Please bring original, a copy will be made.
  4. Birth Certificate - Please bring original, a copy will be made.
  5. Proof of Residency - This can be a paid water bill, or proof that electricity has been turned on. It must be something that will prove that you live in Kaufman. Cable and cell phone bills are not accepted.
  6. Parent or Guardian Identification - This can be a valid driver's license or state identification card. Once you have all of these items, bring them to the school at which you are going to register.
